Welcome to the RedBarn

The RedBarn is a before & after school outreach for 6th to 12th graders. It was begun over six years ago and now has more than 350 kids signed up from in and around the small town of Upland. 40-60 kids participate each school day. They begin arriving just in time for the school bus to pick them up each weekday morning. In the afternoon the bus drops them off to begin a whole host of supervised activities. Volunteers, mostly students from Taylor University and Indiana Wesleyan University, assist the RedBarn director in providing an exciting, safe, Christ-centered environment in which these at risk kids may play and grow. A weekly Bible study is well attended. The RedBarn ministry is a partnership between Lightrider (LtR) and Youth For Christ (YFC).

A building addition to the RedBarn is underway, primarily because of the growing numbers of kids. A class room for tutoring and counseling as well as a pottery studio, which will use art as a ministry tool, are included in this addition.
