Task Force Upland Opportunity
Task Force Upland and Upland United Methodist Church will be offering a 14-hour course on Security and Safety that will concentrate on Faith based organizations, small businesses, and individual situational awareness. This course is open to the community and surrounding area to help protect their people and their property. Target audience for UUMC is anyone who has some responsibility ranging from greeting teams, ushers, children programs, volunteers, music programs, medical teams Church administration and Kiddie Campus.
The course will cover subjects ranging from:

Understanding the role and function of a Church or small organizations and individuals' Security and Safety.

To offer guidance on organizing and developing church’s or small organizations and individuals' Security and Safety Teams and efforts.

To help you identify issues developing a Church or small organizations' and individuals' Security and Safety Teams and efforts.
The purpose:

Mitigating risks that exist at home AND at church
-
Lower risk means lower costs
-
World events demonstrate the need
Participating instructors, currently are Dr. Linda Manganello, Dr. Don Knudsen, Tony Manganello, Sherri Strickland, Amie Mooney, SWAT Officer Chris Strickland and COL (Retired) Ken Strickland
This extensive course will have an introduction presentation on December 10th 2017. The remaining courses will meet every third (3rd) Sunday of each month Starting with December 17th 2017 to May 20th 2018. Meeting time will be 4 PM to 6 PM at the Upland United Methodist Church (Pierce Campus).

March 18th 2018. Class =Arson Prevention and Fire Drills for Churches and Protecting Children from Sexual abuse in the Church

Apr 15th 2018. Class = Protecting yourself and the Church with Use of Force

Graduation, May 20th 2018. Table Top Exercise incorporating Security Teams with a SWAT Officer and Safety Teams for Emergency Medical Response, Course Review and Road Ahead
All these classes (Power Point) will be available for class preparation and making up missed classes.
NOTE: The information covered in this course is extremely valuable to individuals going about daily operations.
